This one is ok, but I wish it could be tightened without tools. The hex key will sure be missing on some shoots.
I have a set of Meike Super35 cine primes (with 80mm housings) and was looking for a solution similar to the Mini Matte box where I could leave an adapter ring in the matte box and be able to quickly switch lenses. Currently, I have a screw-in ring adapter for each lens when using them with my Mirage Matte box, which is a hassle because in order to put the lens caps on, you have to unscrew the ring each time. Unfortunately, this ring also must be tightened onto the lens (it does not compress the way the Mini Matte box rings do), so it defeats the purpose. I guess if you have an 80mm cine lens with no front threads, this would be a decent solution, but since it requires an Allen key to move it on/off each time, it’s more time consuming and less convenient than the threaded adapters.
The reason why I chose this adaptet was because it was a threaded clamp on adapter. I was able to retrofit this into a smallrig mini mattebox and grind out a space and made my own thumb screw thus converting a normally 95mm clamp on mini mattebox into a permanent 80mm clamp on mattebox to use on cine modded photo lenses.
