Introducing the Tilta EVF Extension Kit for Sony FX5. Designed specifically for the FX5, this kit gives you the ability to extend the viewfinder away from the camera and position it in any way that suits your shooting style.
The Extension Kit includes the EVF Extension Cable and the EVF Bracket with NATO Mount. The Extension Cable keeps the EVF signal reliably connected while offering a flexible extension, and mounts the EVF to the Bracket to be able to securely lock it in any position.
This kit is designed to pair perfectly with the Tilta Camera Cage for FX5, allowing the bracket to directly attach to the left side NATO rail for quick and easy attaching and detaching. There are many other ways to attach the bracket and the cable itself as well with its multiple built in mounting points and 15mm rod-based attachment style. So whether you’re shoulder-mounted, handheld, or on a tripod, the extension kit gives you more flexibility to position and shoot comfortably.
The Extension Cable is 11.8 inches long (30cm). On the camera EVF port end, an integrated NATO Rail is built-in with a 3/8″-16 thread with locating points paired with a 1/4″-20 adapter, allowing for greater expansion possibilities for accessories such as mounting top handles, microphones, transmitters, and more. On the other end of the cable that attaches the EVF, there are extra 1/4″-20 threads with locating points and a 15mm rod holder available to mount to other accessories like articulating arms for position to even more places. Use the EVF in a shoulder rig configuration by paring this cable with our Pro Articulating Arm, to extent the EVF out sideways. Or use any 15mm rod holder attachments to attach 15mm rods to secure the EVF.
The adjustable bracket gives you multi-axis adjustment possibilities. It attaches easily via the NATO rail clamp, to quickly slide on and off the sides of the Tilta Camera Cage for FX5 or other NATO Rails. The vertical adjustment has 4.8 inches (123mm) of travel with a telescoping rod, the horizontal adjustment is a 15mm rod that has 105mm of travel from left to right to accomodate a wide variety of positions. The vertical rod also includes a 3/8″-16 with locating points with a 1/4″-20 adapter built-in for side handles such as the Advanced Wooden Side Handles or other accessories.
There are many possible configurations to mount the EVF Extension Cable both using the EVF Bracket and other accessories such as 15mm Rod Holder to NATO Adapter, 18mm NATO Rail, 36mm NATO Rail, Tilta Mini Articulating Arm, Tilta Pro Articulating Arm, and Xeno Top Handle.
