I have these on each of my Osmo Action cameras, and I really couldn’t imagine trying to use them without the cages. You get 1/4″-20 threads on multiple sides (having them on the side in addition to the bottom is very helpful), as well as cold-shoe mounts and a pop-out bottom section that lets you easily swap batteries without removing the camera from the cage. This mini cage makes it so easy to attach an action cam to a clamp or magic arm. Bonus points for including a hard case that can hold the housed camera in your case, and also for the filter adapter that comes in the package, which allows you to use screw-on ND/UV filters without having to buy extra adapters!
