- [LIGHTWEIGHT] Design Supports Multiple Filters Without Adding Unnecessary Weight
This 4×5.65 carbon fiber matte box is designed to clamp directly onto standard sized cinema lenses in order to be as lightweight and unobtrusive as possible.
It includes multiple lens adapter rings to fit most standard front diameters sizes.
Additional sized backings can be purchased separately.
These adapter rings not only allow the matte box to directly attach to the lens, but it forgoes the need for lens donuts.
Included in the package is one top French flag to provide flare protection.
It also includes an 15mm rod attachment if you wish to mount the matte box via LWS rods.
Just great overall
It¡¯s an amazing item but still needs a safety for the filter trays at the bottoms So we can avoid the risk of falling down the filters
I think the MB-T12 is a very nice matte box. It is not the lightest matte box, but it is build very good. The only thing is the mattes are a bit thick and stiff, and by that way in comparison to the matte box, heavy. That way the mattes are a bit hard to insert in the matte box. If the mattes would made a bit thinner, they¡¯d become a bit more flexible, lighter and easier to insert in the matte box.
This mattebox is really nice. It’s mostly like the Little Magic Brand 5, but from Tilta. It fits great between an Abracam and a big Swingaway MB.
I have only two things to say.
– Like Rodriguo, I think it needs a safety pin for the filter trays below. With 15 rods, it doesn’t matter though.
– The hard mattes are too thick and it’s really difficult to mount and remove them. We need them more flexible to be perfect.
I’ve used a rental unit, it was really worth the money, and I’m definitely getting one for me next month.
This is more of a question than a review, but after using this matte box as a clip on, I have lost one of the thumb screws that secure the filter trays.
Does Tilta (you) sell separate thumb screws to secure the filter trays?
Excellent Matte Box by the way!
