Arm your camera with the Tiltaing Camera Cage for the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro and 6K G2.
This Basic Kit for the BMPCC6K Pro/G2 provides protective armor for the camera body and includes some relevant accessories to improve functionality.
The Full Cage offers several 1/4”-20 threads with locating pins, cold shoe receivers, a NATO Rail for Type IV and VI Side Handles, as well as Rod Attachment Ports for our Single Rod Holders.
It also features ARRI compatible rosettes, which are specifically designed for our Adjustable Top Handle Plus for more flexible operating and handling.
The right side arm module can be removed to turn this Full Cage into a Half Cage.
This offers more flexibility in situations where lighter builds are required such as when using a gimbal.
The Bottom Plate provides several ¼”-20 mounting points for attaching your camera to various quick release plates and is compatible with the ARCA Receiver of the RS2 Mounting Plate.
When using the Half Cage, the bottom plate can be extended to support the Black Magic Design Battery Grip.
An included 15mm rod mount can be installed to support 15mm rods in front of the camera body when using the Battery Grip in the Half Cage setup.
The included Quick Release Top Handle can be attached to the top of the cage via a cold shoe receiver and ¼”-20 screw.
This provides an extremely secure connection to comfortably handle and operate your camera system.
The Top Handle features additional ¼”-20 threads, cold shoe receivers and a horizontal 15mm rod holder for mounting external monitors or EVFs.
The SSD Drive Holder attaches directly to the Cage via a 1/4″-20 screw and locating pin.
It can then clamp onto a Samsung T7 SSD drive, securing it to your camera setup and allowing you to record footage onto a separate SSD card.
The included USB-C cable is able to screw into the SSD Holder and the Side Panel of the Cage near the USB-C Port.
This creates an extremely secure connection between your camera and drive.
The 90 Degree HDMI Adapter mounts to the cage near the camera’s HDMI port and offers a secure connection that limits wear on the port itself.

Tilta came out of the gate, being the first to offer cage support for the battery grip. However, be aware that on the bottom there is only ONE 1/4″ thread that is in the center of the lens. Most people who get a rig will build it out enough where the weight will rotate the camera after normal use. It didn’t take much for the cam to swing left and right. Other than that, the build quality and versality is pretty great. Now, being close to end of 21, it didn’t take long for smallrig to not only catch up with a full battery grip cage offering. Additionally, they are now pre-releasing a cage that secures around just the camera, and allows you to pop on and off the battery grip (SM3517). Returning my tilta for this one.
I¡¯m disappointed that it¡¯s only a half cage when using the battery pack. However, it¡¯s a good product.
Overall the Cage is a winner. Delivery was timely-ish considering I live in Ireland. And the cage is functional, well made and finished beautifully.
I have two gripes; firstly the basic kit comes with a SSD holder which is partly the reason I upgraded to the basic kit. However the SSD holder is for the Samsung T7 not the T5… This is something that I missed when purchasing (so my bad) but in my opinion its a pretty easy mistake to make given that the T7 drive is not supported by the BMPCC6KP and the drives have the difference of a letter in their two names (T5 vs T7)…all this amounts to me now having a drive holder (which I paid for) which doesn’t fit my current SSD and doesn’t fit an SSD supported by the camera system….EHHHHH
Secondly, when you use the strain relief cables for the HDMI and USB-C ports it makes plugging OUT the Dtap power cable impossible without removing the USB-C cable (which means unscrewing) which is totally unpractical in every way.
Is there a workaround for this problem?
Apart from those two significant issues…The cage is great
In principle I like this cage as I will use this camera 90% of the time with the additional battery grip and this allows me to do that over other cages (looking at you smallrig).
That said, It’s only a half cage in this mode and there’s no quick way to switch between battery grip on and battery grip off which is a little annoying.
More annoying than anything though is just how snug everything is. It takes me an age to get the t7 drive into the holder as it’s been cut just toooooooo tight. an extra 1/2mm would literally change everything – it looks anyway – it weren’t gonna slip.
In addition to that the cold-shoe mounts suffer from the same issue of being cut so exact there’s little room for actually getting cold-shoe mounting things into it without fear of breaking it.
The same can be said of the usbc and hdmi adapter.
So whilst I like having a cage, I do not think this is the best one as it has some manufacturing issues that suggest, whilst technically and mechanically correct, it skipped the practical user-testing to iron out some very annoying and frequently noticeable issues.
I hope Titla see this review and look into this as they are such simple fixes to overcome.
(I will however say that I’ve had 0 issues using the actual t7 drive with my BMPCC6kPro – recorded 4 projects on it now and it hasn’t let me down once)
The HDMI angle adapter does not fit well. My 90-degree USB-C cable has connectivity quality issue.
