Introducing the Tilta Camera Cage System for Sony FX5, designed to protect, expand, and adapt your cinema camera for a wide range of shooting scenarios.
Custom designed for the Sony FX5 camera body, the Full Camera Cage uses three points of contact to provide a stable, twist-free connection. For lighter builds, users can remove the two bottom screws and handle-side bracket to convert the Full Cage into a more compact Half Cage while retaining essential mounting functionality.
The cage provides multiple options for mounting accessories, including 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 threads with locating points, a Cold Shoe Receiver, a NATO Rail for Top Handles, and mounting points for a Single Rod Holder.
The standalone top plate features an integrated NATO Rail and additional 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 threads, expanding accessory mounting options while maintaining compatibility with the camera’s original XLR Top Handle.
A bi-directional ARCA bottom plate slides in from either direction for faster transitions between compatible tripods and gimbals. A DJI gimbal center-positioning point helps reduce balancing time, while an additional center-positioning point supports balanced baseplate configurations.
Reinforced corners help protect the camera from accidental bumps during active filming, while the included locking HDMI cable clamp secures the connected cable for a more stable signal.
The precision-fitted design maintains full access to the camera’s buttons, dials, screen, battery compartment, and other native functions. A dedicated magnetic latch adds extra security to the battery compartment without slowing down battery changes.
The cage is also designed to integrate seamlessly with the Tilta Nucleus Autofocus Adapter, allowing the adapter to be installed and operated without interference.
The reshaped cage grip follows the natural curve of the palm and includes a dedicated pinky rest, providing a more comfortable and secure grip during handheld operation.
Choose from four configurations depending on your production needs:
The Full Camera Cage includes the core protective cage, an ARCA Quick Release Plate, an HDMI Cable Clamp, and the required installation tool. This option is ideal for users who want the essential cage platform and prefer to build their rig with accessories they already own.
The Base Kit adds the Tilta Xeno Top Handle and Xeno Side Handle. Both handles connect through NATO rails and provide additional mounting points, improved stability, and more flexible handling for handheld and low-angle shooting.
The Power Kit pairs the Full Camera Cage with an Adjustable ARCA Receiver and a 100W Tilta Mini PD V-Mount Battery Plate. This lightweight power solution eliminates the need for a traditional baseplate and 15mm rod setup.
The Adjustable ARCA Receiver can extend to position the battery plate closer to or farther away from the camera body, while its swivel hinge allows the battery angle to be adjusted up to 180 degrees.
The Mini PD V-Mount Battery Plate supports higher-capacity V-Mount batteries for extended camera and accessory runtime. Power outputs include a 60W PD USB-C port, P-Tap, and 2-Pin LEMO connection. Integrated strap slots support the included security strap to help prevent accidental battery disconnection.
The Pro Kit combines the Full Camera Cage with the Xeno Top Handle, Xeno Side Handle, an ARCA Height-Adjustable 15mm LWS Baseplate, and two 15mm rods.
The height-adjustable baseplate allows users to position the camera relative to the rods and maintain the 85mm LWS standard between the rods and the center of the sensor. This improves compatibility with matte boxes, lens supports, follow focus systems, and other rod-mounted accessories.
