Description
- [LOW MODE] Allows you to Capture Low Angle Shots with More Control
- [RONIN CONTROL] of Gimbal Movement, Most Settings, and Dial Functions
- [WIRELESS FOCUS] Compatible with Nucleus Nano, Nucleus M, and DJI Wireless Focus Motor
- [MOUNTING OPTIONS] for External Monitors, Microphones, and Other Accessories
- [GIMBAL POWERED] Design Draws Power from the Ronin's Battery Handle
The Advanced Rear Operating Control Handle features all the benefits and features of the previous model, but now includes increased clearance specifically for accommodating the larger size of the DJI RS3 Pro and RS4 Pro.
This system provides a convenient way to capture lower angle shots while providing more gimbal control than the traditional Briefcase Mode.
The Joystick allows you to control the RS3/4 Pro or RS2 Gimbal while the finger dial can control the DJI Wireless Focus Motor, the Nucleus M and Nucleus Nano motor, or well as the gimbal’s preset “Dial Function.”
This handle mounts via the NATO connectors on the side of the RS2 and RS3/4 Pro gimbal body and powers via the Ronin’s Battery Handle.
The Advanced Rear Operating Control Handle also features various mounting points for accessories like external monitors or on board microphones.
RS2/RS3 Pro: The M Key is NOT able to mimic the function of the gimbal. The M Key on this unit can ONLY change the Mode setting.
Good so far. Works out of the box and seems sturdy. Got an extra Y fork just in case.
Thank you for the feedback!
The handle itself works great, and it’s perfect for those low angles.
Pros:
– High quality.
– Dual nato lock makes it super secure, feels very safe to hold it by just the handle.
– Smooth joystick.
– Decent mounting options for other gear.
Cons:
– Focus dial/ wheel is pretty sensitive with nucleus nano.
– Only one nato rail on left side, no nato rail on right side.
– The nato rail on the left side is basically useless for use with a side handle. The small rail is held in place by just 1 screw (it comes un-attached in the box), and the back of the rail has a small square extruding out to supposedly stop the rail from twisting. But sadly to little success.
Even when tightened to the max with the supplied allen wrench stripping the screw, with a side handle attached, it will start twisting with just a small amount of force. Bending the small extruding square (looks like pretty soft metal).
My nato mount was worn and unusable after 1 test use, sadly. Highly recommend getting the Tilta RS3 baseplate, which has two solid nato rails that don’t slip!
Conclusion and idea’s:
Overall great quality Tilta product again, having a better nato rail side mount would improve this design a lot more. Having one of those nato rails on the right side would be great too!
The extension arm is very useful and sensitive to operate, I really liked it as an accessory for my Ronin.
Made to the highest standards! Super stable! Lighter than it looks. Turns my DjI RS3 Pro into a beast for flexibility in shooting from below waist all the way to the ground!
This is my second rear control handle. I also had the previous version for the RS 2. This version appears exactly the same, except for the longer mounting arm to clear the new dimensions of the RS 3 Pro. That said, this handle never leaves my gimbal. It¡¯s fabulous!
